AT MIDNIGHT
A play by Danica Friss Wilson
Directed by Maddy Mackintosh
What’s more human than wanting to be loved?
Brandy is a sweet, agreeable, and slightly-awkward graphic designer with a troubled relationship history and a sentimental streak. Sam is a charming tech entrepreneur with an easygoing attitude, underlied by a short fuse and aversion to emotion. When they first cross paths at a New Year’s Eve party in 2009, they don’t expect to meet again - but year after year, from one countdown to the next, the pair seem to find their way back together.
Written by Danica Friss Wilson, At Midnight poignant story about the urgency of human connection. How can we distinguish a person as they are from the ideas we project onto them? How much will we sacrifice to be accepted by others? And how do we reconcile a fear of being known with a desperation to be understood?
FROM THE END OF THE WORLD
A play by Henry Kemeny-Wodlinger
Directed by Krystie Nguyen
Seventy years from now, due to mindless overexploitation and overconsumption by people, humanity on Earth is coming to an end. Left with devastated oceans and lands, the planet is in the midst of an exponential deoxygenation. As the ecosystem begins to shut down, humans have made a last ditch effort to keep themselves alive. During the last day before all sentient beings on this planet will be wiped out forever, a tape was recorded by the people ‘from the End of the World’. Are they sorrowful? Or are they relieved? Are they scared? If you only had one more day to live, what would you do? Who would you think about, and who would you spend that time with?
HOLY INAPPROPRIATE
A play by Allison Fradkin
Directed by Nora Bartram-Forbes
With purity rings heavy on their fingers, Mary Jo’s three daughters wait patiently for their mother’s sex ed lesson to begin - Biblical Literalist style, of course. Holy Inappropriate follows this family as they explore religion, feminism, marriage and… anatomy! This show is witty, hilarious and tentatively heart-warming. Under their Umbrellas of Protection, this cast will have you laughing, gasping and watching in pure awe. Punny, rapturous and delightful, Holy Inappropriate is a celebration of challenging long-held beliefs, and discovering oneself along the way.
ASHA
A play by Huda Mansuri
Directed by Alexis Mezzarobba
Asha's coming out story isn't one of those queer coming of age movies we're all used to. Unable to find the support she needs, Asha navigates her relationships to her family, her right to love, and the freedom to be who she really is. Experience Asha's touching story as it warms your heart through friendship, romance, and self discovery.
WE SUPPORT YOU
A play by Alexis Mezzarobba
Directed by Danica Friss Wilson
We Support You is a dramatic comedy about a support group led by an enthusiastic former psychology student, Amelie. The participants seem to have the most trivial, annoying problems that, through a series of games, exercises, and all-around tomfoolery, unravel to reveal their much darker roots.
LOOKING FOR MOTHMAN
A play by Jacques Vincent
Directed by Maya Earn and Dani Gottlieb
Do you ever feel the need to escape the city? Breathe in the fresh scent of the great outdoors? If the answer is yes, you are not alone! Looking for Mothman gives you a glimpse into the complex friendship of two adventurers heading out on the journey of a lifetime. What, or who, will they find along the way in the dark and vast boreal forest? Watch to find out!
